January Empties – Cold Weather Skincare

Hello everyone! I’m back with your typical roundup of products I myself have used up over the last few weeks. With it being winter and me doing some traveling, I used up a TON of [mostly trial-sized] products that I am so excited to share with you. Some worked really well, others didn’t. Again, with it being winter and my skin drying out the most, this month was basically all skincare items! Read on to see what I thought of each:

Kiehls Creme de Corps – This is my all-time favorite body moisturizer. Y’all know I love me some Kiehl’s and this product is no exception. I’ve used this over and over again and I will continue to do so. I swear my body craves this lotion.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray – I absolutely love this spray. It is the perfect little pick me up over makeup or just on bare skin. I love the smell and feel of it. I had shared a rose spray before, and while I loved that one, this one is WAY cheaper and does the job. I will be repurchasing this.

Tatcha Luminous Skin Mist – I bought a little trial size of this during the Sephora sale because I’ve heard so many people rave about this. Honestly, this let me down in a major way. It is SO pricey and left me looking like a grease ball. I have combo skin that tends to skew dry, especially in the winter, and this was just way too much. If I want a dewy mist, I will definitely be going back to this one, that’s 1/4 the price. I know some people swear by this, but it just wasn’t for me.

Urban Decay Quick Fix Spray – I got a trial of this in my Sephora playbox and was so excited to try it. Honestly, this was another spray that was a miss for me. I don’t know if I got a dud but I HATED the mister on this. It was super uneven and left me gloppy in some areas and dry in others. The smell is nice [because I like coconut], but other than that, I’d rather use the Mario Badescu one.

Glamglow Thirstymud Cleanser – I can’t even remember where I got this but I used it up on some recent travels and I really enjoyed this. I like cleansers that have some scrubbers in it and this is very slightly exfoliating. The smell is SO nice and I felt like my skin was glowing after I used it. I love this brand but this is pretty pricey so I’m not sure I’ll repurchase. It was very nice, though.

L’Oreal Pure-Clay Mask – I included this in my favorite masks post and I meant it. I swear my skin is never softer than after when I use this mask. If you haven’t tried this range, I highly recommend it. There are varieties for every skin type/issue and each one is better than the last. I get 10+ uses out these tubs, so the price is really great.

Caudalie Serums – I got two samples of this in Sephora Play boxes and I enjoyed both. I think my makeup went on way smoother after using this and they were very gentle and didn’t break me out. They are pricey but I think good skincare is worth it. A good place to start if you want to try these would be to grab this. I would use these before my moisturizer and really noticed a difference, even after a few uses.

Kiehl’s Wrinkle-Reducing Moisturizer – This was another travel size that I used up recently. This moisturizer was super heavy and definitely delivered some serious hydration. While I can’t speak to the wrinkle-reduction as I only got 4-5 uses of this, the reviews are pretty amazing on this product. If you’re looking for a good wrinkle item, this is worth checking out.

Drunk Elephant Cleanser/Moisturizer Duo – I ordered this during the Sephora sale because I had heard so many good things about this brand. It is super pricey so I didn’t want to dive right in so I thought this little sampler was perfectly. While the cleanser was just OK, the moisturizer rocked my world. I do believe it is my new holy-grail moisturizer! I bought the full size immediately once I ran out. I swear I don’t even need primer when I use this, which helps me justify the price. My skin is so soft and my makeup goes on so smoothly. I cannot recommend it enough!

Lovebug ‘Colds Suck’ Probiotic c/o – I’ve talked about this brand before and it is truly our favorite when it comes to probiotics. Dillon is even using this brand now! I swear this stuff works because both Mike and Dillon got the flu this month and I didn’t! Not only does it help your gut but it really helps boost your immunity.
