Arizona, Scottsdale in particular, is a frequent travel destination of mine. Whether for work or play, I find myself ending up there usually once a year. You can see previous posts here, here, here, and here. I recently went for a conference for my new company so I wanted to share some snaps [including outfit details] from the trip. We stayed at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch and it was so beautiful! I also wanted to use this as sort of a mini-guide on how I try to stick to a capsule wardrobe when travelling. I packed for 4 days in a carry-on for this trip and had a ton of combinations of outfits, some of which weren’t even shown here. I had 3 pairs of shoes [flats/heels/sneakers], 1 bodysuit, 1 jacket, and 1 pair of jeans and then a few dresses and blazers to make the whole week feel stylish but still low-maintenance. I always take photos before I leave of how I want the outfits to look so my mornings are made simpler because I don’t have to think of what I’m going to wear. So, I thought it’d be fun to show how I envisioned the idea and then how I actually ended up wearing it on the trip! I hope this post is helpful [and that the photos take your mind somewhere sunny].
This was what I wore on the plane. The dress was super comfortable and the shoes made walking a breeze. I always need layers on the plane so the jean jacket was necessary.

I loved this outfit. It was the same jacket I wore on the plane but over a bodysuit + skirt it was just the right amount of dressed up for cocktail hour + dinner at the resort.
The next 3 looks are what I wore for the meetings. We were able to be casual, but I still wanted to look professional and polished. By re-wearing jeans with different blazer combinations, I did just that by not taking up too much room. Because it’s Arizona, I mixed it up one day with a dress [last seen here] and I loved it all! I got so many compliments on these outfits and they made me feel powerful but approachable.
