Austin Travel Diary

My last two outfit posts were from our recent trip to Austin so today I wanted to share some other snaps from the trip. Honestly, I took, like, 300 photos this trip so it was really hard to figure out how I wanted to share all of it. Instead of bombarding you with photos, I figured I’d choose a few favorites and just elaborate on them. As you can tell by our photos, the weekend was spent chasing the kids around and eating! And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Let me know if you have any questions or if you’ve ever been to any of these places! You can see more info on previous Austin trips here and here. We really love the city and are constantly finding new places every time we visit.

Lunch at Red’s Porch. This is more of a hidden gem in north Austin but it is SO GOOD! My sister and I split the Manimal burger [basically their take on Animal Style; pictured above] and the fried pickles while the guys opted for Chicken sandwiches. Mike’s chicken fried chicken was outstanding and my Brother-in-Law got this amazing grilled chicken with a to-die-for sauce. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend this place.

Ready for dinner at Culinary Dropout at the Domain. You can find my dress here.

There aren’t enough words in the English language for how good Culinary Dropout is. We got SO much food! These deviled eggs were absolutely amazing. We also got the Pretzels with Provolone Fondue and we could not stop reaching for them. Mike and my BIL got the Fried Chicken, I got the Beef Dip sandwich, and my sister got the Ravioli. All were so different but equally amazing. The vibe is also really cool and we had the best time.

What I wore to Red’s Porch. You can find the full post here.

We met up with a good friend for a beer at Black Star Co-op. Very cool vibe with lots of interesting beer choices. You can find my sweater here.

D enjoying some swing time!

Texas BBQ at Stiles Switch. Everything was so good but the standouts to me were the sausage and potato salad. My sister loved the turkey and Mike deemed the Beef Rib as “life-changing”. There was also no wait! If you’re familiar with Texas BBQ, you know that some can have waits up to 4 hours long [we’ve done it!] so getting right in was amazing, especially with 3 kids in tow!

Indulged in some Frito Pie at Phil’s while the kids monkeyed around on the playground there.

Details from my look for lunch at Stiles Switch. You can see the full post here.

Some of my travel favorites.

anyone know how to get 3 kids to all look at the camera!? but how CUTE are these cousins?!
