Banana Chocolate Protein Shake

I got such great feedback on my green smoothie recipe that I figured I’d share another one of my favorite shakes to make. Especially now that majority of us are home for a while, now is a great time to start experimenting with pantry staples in healthy and easy recipes. This 5 ingredient protein shake is one of my go-tos, and Dillon loves it, too! If you’re a banana flavor lover like me, then this is definitely for you.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 cup Unsweetened Vanilla almond milk [or regular milk if that’s your preference; that will make the texture more creamy and shake-like]
  • 1 scoop Superfood power [I like BBF]
  • 1 scoop Chocolate protein powder [I’m currently loving New Chapter]
  • 1 TBSP ground Cinnamon
  • 1 medium banana
  • water or regular milk to add in for preferred consistency

Recipe steps:

1.) I start out by adding the almond milk to the base of the blender. If I have some leftover coffee in the pot, I’ll add that in, too! It’s a super yummy addition [obviously don’t share with your kids if you add this in!].

2.) Then, I’ll add in the powders so that they can settle into the liquid.

3.) Next, I add the banana in in chunks [if you have a frozen banana, that’s even better to make it cold and creamy].

5.) Then, I’ll whirl it up! I sometimes add more water/milk if it’s looking too thick/grainy, but today’s was perfect.

6.) Finally, I’ll pour it up, top off with some ice, and add in one of my glass straws!

And that’s it! It’s so easy and yummy. It’s also super filling thanks to the protein and carbs from the banana, so it could definitely count as a breakfast or lunch. If you want to share it with someone, it’s a great snack! This serving can usually be split between Dillon and I.
