Clingsman Dome

The highlight of our trip to Gatlinburg for me was our hike to the top of Clingmans Dome. Being borned and raised in the Midwest, Tennesee was never really on my radar. In all honesty, when I thought of TN, I really only thought of Nashville. But since moving to Cincinnati 4.5 years ago, I’ve heard a ton of people rave about Gatlinburg. Mike used to go all the time when he was younger and he always said how great it was. So, for a weekend getaway, we decided to go down there. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it totally blew me away. The scenary is just unreal. It almost looks like a painting everywhere you look. I’m sure the fact we went in the middle of fall helped since the colors were just stunning. So, we made it our mission to hike to the top of Clingsman Dome. This unexpectedly turned into one of my favorite views I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve traveled quite a bit! The hike is short enough for beginners, but since it’s all uphill, it’s still a workout! I kept my look easy and comfy for the hike, sporting my all-time favorite Nikes. The drive to the trail is also stunning and there are other trails and little stop off points for taking pictures. We stopped probably 6 times on the way to back to downtown to snap photos. These are only a few of the photos we took because otherwise this post would’ve been 100 pictures long! If you ever find yourself in that part of the country, make it a point to get to there!
