Dinner at Uchiko

Grab a snack, because this is a long post. Austin weather was not on our side this past weekend (hence all the darker photos). It was absolutely monsooning when we arrived to the restaurant so we tried to shoot these photos under the covered patio outside Uchiko. Never the less, you guys, this meal was one of the best of my life. My sister and brother-in-law have lived in Austin on and off for the past 10 years (on for the last 3ish), and I've wanted to get to Uchiko ever since they've been back more permanently. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. For the occasion, I wanted to wear this fun dress from Pretty Pony Boutique. The print is bold (very Austin-y), but the fit is very feminine. The inside decor of the restaurant is amazing, but the lighting is pretty dim so the photos aren't super bright, but worth sharing. If you plan on going and have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I just can't say enough good things about it.

hama chili

yokai berry with dinosaur kale

crunchy tuna makimono

ceviche (so good we ordered it twice!)

sea bass special

we also ordered the wagyu beef hot rock, the ham & eggs makimono, the karaage, and the strawberry sorbet.
