February Empties

I can’t believe another month has come and gone. February was a fun one for me as I embarked on a few weeks of [luckily voluntary] funemployment, which hasn’t happened in basically my entire life! I start a new job TODAY and I’m so excited for this next chapter in my life. I find it fitting that this post fell on today because I am officially no longer a part of the beauty community [professionally anyway]. After 7+ years at L’Oreal Paris, I have accepted a position as Category Development Manager at Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits! While I will miss working in beauty tremendously, wine isn’t such a bad substitute! And I will of course continue to share my beauty favorites on the blog, so that won’t be going anywhere! I’m so grateful to L’Oreal for the last almost decade and I will always support and be so proud to have been a part of the L’Oreal family. Phew. That feels good to get out there! Anyway, I had asked on Instastories whether you guys wanted to see only new products or everything, and I got a lot of suggestions to dive deep on the newer products for an initial review and then just highlight which products are repeat offenders, so you can see what I’m really using time and time again. Let me know if this new format works better for you all! I always want to be a good resource for you guys and I think, by doing this, you’ll get a good taste of how I feel about newer products and see what I really love all the time. Let’s dive in!

Elizabeth + James Bourbon Nirvana Dry Shampoo + Perfume Set – I didn’t mean to finish this set at once but the gods aligned and it happened! I am IN LOVE with this fragrance for fall and winter. It’s spicy, sexy, but still somehow feminine. I will definitely repurchase this for the cold weather months. However, the dry shampoo was a total bust. It left a MAJOR whitecast and it made my scalp itch like crazy! I don’t know if it was because it was fragranced, but I’d definitely recommend passing on the dry shampoo, especially if you have a sensitive scalp. The perfume is a total winner, though.

Tony Moly I’m Rose Mask – This was a gift from a girlfriend and I loved this mask! It smelled heavenly and had a ton of essence which left my skin feeling refreshed and plump afterward. Definitely pick this up if you’re into sheet masks.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray – I had finished a rose version of this in months prior, so thought I’d give the aloe/cucumber one a go. I really liked it! For the price point, you can’t beat it. I will definitely repurchase to keep on hand to spritz my face first thing in the morning, after a workout, or even poolside in the summer.

YSL Lip Volupte – I have to admit I purchased this for the package, but ended up falling in love with the product. It’s no secret I love bougie lip balms, and this was a great one. It went on smooth, smelled yummy, and had pretty good lasting power. There is a touch of tint so it’s great for no-makeup-makeup days. I’ll probably grab another color of this!

Carol’s Daughter Peppermint Foot Lotion – I have AWFUL feet, especially in the winter. I’m talking dry, cracking, ugly feet. I slather a good layer of this on my feet before bed and cover with socks and it’s game-changing. My feet become more smooth, less cracked, and it actually helps me sleep because of the peppermint smell! If you’ve been looking for a good foot cream, I definitely recommend this one.

So, there are all the products I used up lately. Have you tried any of these? Let me know if you think there’s something else I should be trying!
