How To Style Bike Shorts

cover photo outfit details here

Ah, the ever polarizing bike short. This trend came on hot and heavy in spring 2020 and either you love ’em or you hate ’em. It took me a while to get on board, but once I found a flattering fit for my body type, I was hooked. I think for someone short and somewhat curvy [with defined quads], I need a bit of length for them to be flattering. But not too long. Mid-thigh to right above the knee seems to be best for me. Below I’m sharing 5 outfit ideas on how to wear these in a flattering, stylish, but still subtle way.

THE 90s WAY

cropped white jacket // tie dye tee c/o [$7; wearing a L] // bike shorts [$7; wearing a M]

JEAN JACKET

jean jacket // similar striped tee // bike shorts c/o [under $10; wearing a M] // similar sandals

BUTTON DOWN TUNIC

striped top // shoes // bike shorts [$7; wearing a M]

GRAPHIC/LEOPARD TEE

similar tee // shoes c/o // bike shorts c/o [under $10; wearing a M]

CROPPED SWEATSHIRT

cropped sweatshirt c/o // similar shoes // headband // bike shorts [$7; wearing a M]

So, which one is your favorite?! Or, maybe none at all? Either way is cool with me. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this polarizing trend!
