Neutral Sneaker Round-Up & Review

I mentioned in this post how as I get older, I feel my style evolving to a more neutral place. That’s not to say I don’t love a good dose of color every now and then [like here], but overall, I feel comfortable investing in pieces that can be mixed and matched in my closet. Especially now that I’m a mom, along with being more neutral, my style definitely reflects comfort. Enter sneakers. I’ve always had a love for flats, but in the past 6 months or so, I’ve really elevated my sneaker game. I thought this would be a fun post to put together my favorites, why I like them, and ideas on how to style them. I’ve tried to include as much detail as possible but let me know if you have any specific questions I didn’t answer!

These are my “cool” sneakers. I throw these on when I want a look to be a bit more edgy or exciting. The velcro also makes them super easy to strap on and go. The color is neutral but different than anything else I have. I found these to run a tad big. I still got my normal 8.5 but I think they’re just a bit wide for my feet, so keep that in mind. When I have socks on they feel fine. Overall, I love these sneakers and the interesting element they provide any outfit!

These are my everyday sneakers. They’re white and really lightweight, which makes them perfect for errand-running and baby-carrying. I had some knockoff Converse that were older than dirt, so I finally pitched those and sprung for these. They’re a bit different than your basic white sneaker but still really timeless. These run a little big, so I got a size 8, instead of 8.5 and they fit great.

These menswear-inspired sneakers are definitely out of my comfort zone but I loved how comfortable they were. Why do guys get all the comfy stuff?! I love that these are gray, because I have a ton of gray, black, and white in my closet that these go with. I found these to run TTS and really are so comfy.

These are probably the oldest pair I have out of this neutral lot. Whenever I’m in doubt of which pair to wear, I usually grab these. Leopard is a neutral, after all! These are beyond comfortable and have been everywhere with me. You can make them more preppy by mixing them with a plaid blanket scarf, or toughen them up with a leather jacket. I really think everyone should have a pair of these in your closet. You just can’t go wrong. Again, my exact ones are old, but I linked the closest pair I could find and what I’ll likely buy as a backup for these.

Dalmatian-print sneakers? Yes, please! I love, love, love the print on these. While these exact ones are pretty hard to come by, Nordstrom offers a ton of varieties in this style. These sneakers are the definition of athleisure to me. I throw these on when I know I have some serious walking ahead of me. While I wouldn’t recommend these for actually working out, they’re a great walking sneaker. I got these in my normal 8.5.
