Spring/Summer Looks

Pre-Spring Try-On

Happy February! What better time to share a pre-spring try-on than during a Winter Storm, eh?! I hadn’t been doing much clothes shopping lately, plus I had recently done a major closet clean-out, so I had a hankering recently to place some online orders for pre-spring vibes. I was craving some prints and color after a winter of basically neutrals, and I found a ton of [affordable] pieces that I wanted to give a go. I did a live try-on on Wednesday over on Instagram stories but wanted to have a place for these pieces to permanently live. Read on to see what I scooped up, pricing, and sizing details. C’mon Spring!

Yellow Ruffle Dress – $36 – size Small

This dress is ADORABLE! I didn’t have anything in this color and this makes me so excited for Summer! The neck closure can button or remain open and there’s an elastic waist, which makes this super comfy. I will say, this is a wee bit short even on my 5’3 frame. So, if you’re tall, I’d size up. This is also a bit sheer so I’d likely wear a slip underneath, which is just personal preference. Nude undergarments would be fine, too.

Colorblock Midi Dress – $38 – size Medium

This is THE perfect Valentine’s Day dress! It ties in the back of the neck and around the waist, which gives lot of flexibility. I wish I had gotten the Small in this, but the Medium works. This would be so cute with a bump, too. The fabric is super comfortable and, with a quick steam, this looks way more expensive than it is.

Mixed Media Sweater – $5 – Size Medium

HOW is this sweater $5?! It is so cute and comfortable. It’s a bit lightweight, which will make it perfect for Spring and early Summer. I’m already envisioning this with cutoff jean shorts and sandals. It comes in a ton of colors and the Medium fit perfect for that slightly oversized look. I am obsessed with this, especially for the price.

Quilted Bag – $21

This bag is gorgeous and looks like the super popular Bottega bags. I will say, you’re getting what you pay for here. The quality isn’t outstanding, but it’ll do the job for a fun pop of color.

Star Sweater [Size M – $24] + Boucle Drawstring Sweater Skirt [Size M Petite – $22]

I didn’t think to pair these things together, but somehow, it works! This sweater is SO soft and will be perfect for the holidays [but in late Winter/early Spring, too]! The skirt is a boucle material so it’s thick, so you can pair it with thicker sweaters and boots in the winter or a chambray or white button down skirt in the spring. Both of these pieces are really versatile, which I love. I’d say the sweater is TTS and size down if you’re between sizes on the skirt.

Embroidered Peplum Blouse [Size M + $28]

How DARLING is this top?! From the embroidery to the puff sleeves, it is just perfect. It’s super comfortable and breathable, too. I took my true size in this and it’s perfect. It’s a bit cropped but the waist is defined which makes it really flattering. A true 10/10, especially for the price.

Fruit Salad Romper [Size M Petite – $10]

How FUN is this?! It’s super affordable and super cute for the spring and summer. I love that is has pockets and can be paired with a variety of toppers [jean jacket, white blazer, black denim jacket] and shoes [heels, sandals, sneakers]. This is a great WFH piece during the day that can easily transition to an al fresco happy hour.

Embroidered Midi Swing Dress [Size S Petite – $66]

This dress instantly transports me to Greece. It is so comfortable and beautifully made. I just can’t say enough good things about this one. I would say size down in this, especially if you’re petite.

Leopard Swimsuit [Size L – $36]

I had been rotating the same few swimsuits for a while now, so I wanted to mix it up for this year. I saw this one and knew that it covered enough that I felt comfortable but still cute and fun. I also love that I can mix and match this one with this one. I sized up per some reviews and I’m glad I did. The only thing I don’t love about this is that the sleeves aren’t printed on both sides, i.e. when they flap over, there’s white underneath. But, you get what you pay for! And this one will serve me well this summer.

Striped Polo Poncho Sweater [Size S – $14]

This piece is super nostalgic for me. It reminds me of polos in middle school that I used to wear the heck out of. This is another piece I could see being worn with jeans, denim shorts, or even skirts. It’s very soft and cozy but runs big, so I’d recommend sizing down in this.

Daydream Seamless High Waist Boyshorts [Size XS/S – $6]

I love me some bike shorts and these are amazing. They are super soft and seamless and suck everything in. While I wouldn’t do a super sweaty workout in these, they would be great for long walks or yoga. Get your smaller size in these.

Spring Bloom Lacy Ruffle Peplum Top [Size M – $60]

Hello, spring top of my dreams! Everything about this top is perfect; the print, fit, details, and color. It is a bit roomy on me in the Medium, but I actually like the fit. It can be worn tucked or untucked and would look great with white jeans or a black skirt. I love this top.
