Good moring and Happy Monday! Today marks the beginning of Influencer status shopping for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! In the past, I’ve done extensive coverage of the sale across many posts, and honestly, this year I just wasn’t into it. You can see what I got last year here [and honestly I still have and love majority of it!]. Don’t get me wrong, the sale has some amazing deals, but given the state of the world/COVID, and that I don’t go anywhere really, the thought of pushing the idea of buying tons of new clothes didn’t sit right with me. Plus, with their new tiered system of shopping, I wasn’t sure when you all could shop, so I figured I’d condense my coverage this year. That said, I definitely will buy some stuff this year [and I LOVED the new wish list feature which allowed me to add all my items last week and then just hit purchase this morning when it goes live at 9:30 AM EST]. I also want to preface this by saying that I know this looks like a lot. And actually, this is a much smaller haul than previous years! However, I track my keeps and returns each year in excel, and historically, I only keep anywhere from 40-70% of what I actually purchase. So I know a lot of this will be going back! Without further adieu, here is what I snagged:
TOPS – I kept my cool with tops this year and just snagged a few that I knew I could wear with leggings and around the house. I’m excited for the bodysuit whihc is the one nicer top I grabbed. I got a Large in the button down and long sleeve top for an oversized fit, a Medium in the bodysuit for a TTS fit, and a Small in the leopard top because I know that brand runs oversized.
SWEATERS/BLAZERS – This is always the category I’m most excited for in the sale. I got a Medium in everything except a Small in the FP Sweater because I know those run oversized.
PANTS/DRESSES – I definitely didn’t go crazy in this category this year. Again, knowing I don’t really go anywhere, I couldn’t justify buying a ton of dresses or jeans [especially because my jean collection is in a really good place right now]. But, I always like to try designer denim during the sale so I ordered a 6 in the Good American [they run big], a 29 in the Levis and STS Blue. I figure I’ll only keep 1, maybe 2, of these. And I thought the dress was cute and looked really comfy as well as the skirt. I got a Medium in both.
HOUSE/BEAUTY – Again, I kept it pretty minimal in these categories this year. We desperately needed to upgrade our pans so I grabbed this Viking set. The hand towels were a steal so I grabbed a set of those. The L’Occitane shower gel is amazing and this set will last us forever. Our kitchen essential oil diffuser juts conked out, so I grabbed this pretty one to replace it. My favorite blanket is back this year [I linked it here], so I’d recommend grabbing one of those.
SHOES/ACCESSORIES – This was another category I did not go hard on. I loved this chain necklace to add it to my current rotation. I LOVED these Nikes so I hope they don’t get cancelled! The black flats would replace a pair I’ve worn down over the years and I loved the snakeskin details. Honestly, all the boots looked the same from previous years and I have a pair in every color, so I didn’t need to buy any new ones this year. However, I did buy these last year and they’re back and I HIGHLY recommend them. I wanted a new pair of slippers for my office [because I am always FREEZING during the day] and the reviews on these seemed promising.
MENS/KIDS – I had recently gotten Dillon a bunch of clothes [that I shared here], so I didn’t see much I wanted for him this year, but I obviously had to grab the Toy Story hoodie. Mike is also WFH and didn’t really need anything new, so I just grabbed him this belt which he definitely needed to replace.
So, there you have it! I know it looks like a lot, but again I know I’ll be returning some of it. Overall, I think there was some good stuff this year, but a lot of it looked similar to years past, so you probably have some similar things in your closet! I am excited for what I ordered and will share my thoughts as it comes in! I also like that alot of what I ordered is in a similar color scheme, so I can mix and match it all.
