Fall/Winter Looks

What to Wear for the Holidays [25+ outfit ideas]

I had shared that I wasn’t going to do gift guides this year [you can still check out all my past guides for inspo here], and had subsequently asked what type of holiday content you would want to see outside of gift guides. One of the requests I got was for outfit ideas for hte big 5 events [thanksgiving, christmas, holiday party, work party, and NYE. So, I dug back into the archives and pulled out these looks that would be perfect for each occassion.

THANKSGIVING OUTFITS

I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving may just be my favorite holiday. There’s nothing I love more than being surrounded by my favorite people and amazing food! We keep it pretty casual in my family, so I’d likely go with the jeans or faux leather legging outfits, but if you do dress sup, you can’t go wrong with a solid neutral look [with a pop of leopard, of course!].

HOLIDAY PARTIES

I usually stick with one “fun” element when I’m dressing for a holiday party. Whether it’s sequins, a fun texture, or a knot detail, having one more interesting aspect to the outfit puts just the right touch on your look.

CHRISTMAS OUTFITS

Much like Thanksgiving, Christmas is pretty casual for me. So, a comfy sweater and jeans is likely my go to. This top and bottom left looks would be perfect for me. However, adding in a fun scarf, printed skirt, or blazer is a great way to elevate basics for the holidays.

WORK EVENT

These are some of my favorite looks! A power piece in a bold color [like the red and yellow dresses] are the perfect mix of polished and fun for a work party. A midi skirt in a neutral print or more modest dress in a bold print are also good options.

NEW YEARS EVE

Honestly, my days of getting gussied up and partying for NYE are behind me. But, if I were to go out, I’d choose a dress with a fun detail [like embroidered or cinching] or a statement up top [like this leopard coat or fuzzy blouse]. This is another scenario where picking just one “fun” element is enough to keep you looking appropriate but festive.

I hope you find some inspiration from this post! Honestly, some of these looks would work for multiple events; it’s all about what you’re comfortable with!
