48 hours in Amsterdam

Hello! It’s been a minute since I posted on the blog but since we just returned from a week in Europe celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, I figured what better time to come back. For the first leg of our trip, we spent an afternoon/evening, a full day, and then another morning in Amsterdam! This was somewhere we were really excited to go and we are even more excited to go back now that we’ve been!

The cocktail scene in Amsterdam was INCREDIBLE! There were so many gorgeous and swanky spots and the drinks were delicious literally every place we went.

Cocktail Bars: Rosalia’s Menagerie // Door 74 // de Stoof // Red Light Bar // Flying Dutchmen

I went into Amsterdam with zero expectations on the food and we were pleasantly surprised! It was also pretty reasonable. The steakhouse was great, the Thai place had Peking Duck that was incredible, and De Luwte was a super aesthetic spot with the best truffle fries I’ve ever had!

Restaurants: CAU Steakhouse // Casa di Leo // Rakang Thai // De Luwte

The weather wasn’t entirely on our side this trip so we didn’t get to Keukenhof like we wanted, but we ended up spending almost a whole day in the Rijks, which was amazing! The little museums around town were also adorable and there was some really unique shopping as well, like at The Otherist and the Antiekcentrum.

Attractions: Rijksmuseum // Tulip Museum // Cheese Museum // Antique Market // The Otherist // Anne Frank Huis

I put my leather jacket and trench coat to work this trip! It was pretty cold in Amsterdam so I also layered fleece-lined tights under my trousers which helped a ton. Literally nobody was wearing heels so I wore sneakers or flats the entire time, which was good because we did a ton of walking.

Outfits: Trench // Trousers // Stripe Sweater // Faux Leather Jacket // Sneakers

We stayed at Hotel Nadia, which had no elevator, a million stairs, and super tiny rooms, but it was super affordable and in a great location, which worked perfectly for us! We would go back to Amsterdam in a heartbeat and I’m proud of how much we fit in with the limited time that we had there.
