October Empties

Hi friends and Happy Halloween! I’ll be sharing our costumes on Instagram so check there for that! We’re back for another month of empties and there was a lot of new goodness in this round. I also used up some old faithfuls, but there were a few new welcome additions this month. Read on to see what I finished up lately.

SKIN/BODY

Skinceuticals Clarifying Clay Masque – This mask is really good. Since it’s clarifying, I found it quite drying. Clay masks always are, but this one really does the job. If you’re oily and prone to breakouts, I definitely recommend trying this one.

Kiehl’s Lavender Bath Soak – This is my all-time favorite bubble bath. It smells divine and a little bit gives you a ton of bubbles. This is perfect for that me-time. I highly recommend this.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum – This is my new holy grail day serum. I’ve gone through a few bottles now and always keep a backup on hand. Pro-tip, the mini is actually a better value! You get 0.5 oz for $20 or 1 oz for $48. Not sure why that is but I now get the 0.5 oz to save a few bucks.

Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Mask – I got this as a points perk, I believe, and I LOVED this mask! I definitely want to buy a full-size of this once I work through a couple more masks in my collection. It has a cooling effect and leaves your face feeling so fresh and clean. Plus, it’s blue! 10/10 recommend this one. Ole Henriksen products usually impress me and this is no exception.

L’Oreal Ideal Clean Towelettes – I’ve gone through these in the past. They’re good. They’re affordable. Enough said.

COSMETICS

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara – I loved this mascara! It’s great at lengthening for sure. It’s not my favorite high-end mascara ever but I really did enjoy it.

Smashbox Primerizer – This may be my new favorite primer ever. Smashbox always kills it with primers and I think this is their best yet. My makeup stays on for HOURS when I use this. My biggest problem is my t-zone getting oily and foundation slipping off my nose throughout the day and this combats both those problems. I highly, highly recommend this primer. PSA- I do still use my regular moisturizer under this.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation – This is THE best mattifying foundation. I use this all fall and winter and love the look it gives my skin. I highly recommend trying this if you like matte foundations.

Sephora Bright Set Powder – I really liked this powder. It did not leave a yellow cast and did a good job setting my under eyes. It appears they don’t have the loose version anymore but the pressed version looks good.

HAIR

Matrix Biolage Waterless Dry Shampoo – I tried this on a whim and really liked it! It smells SO good and left NO white cast on my hair. Having black hair I have to be particular about my dry shampoo and I really, really liked this one.

So there you have it! I’ve been going through products like crazy lately but it’s been so fun to try new things and also revisit old favorites. What products are you guys loving right now?!
