September Beauty Empties

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! But real talk, HOW is it October?! My mind is blow how fast the second half of this year is going! Today I’m back with September’s installment of my beauty empties. This month has a few different items but also a few items I’ve featured before. You know that means they are MVP status! Also, today I’m including a product I NEVER want to get near my face again! Read on to figure out which one it is.

COSMETICS

L’Oreal Infallible Beauty Blender – I absolutely love this sponge. In fact, I often reach for it more than the beauty blender. I love that the bottom is flat which is great for foundation, while it still has a point for concealer. It’s like $6 or $7 and totally worth it. Because of the price, I can swap it out every few months and still spend less than I would on one beauty blender that I would then feel pressured to clean all the time! Win, win.

Kat Von D Lock It Concealer – Ok, you guys. I hate to do this but I HATE this product. Like, despise. While I definitely have concealer favorites [read about them here], I’m not above trying new ones. I got this one in my Sephora PlayBox so I figured I’d give it a go. WOOF! The day I wore it, Mike literally said “um your under eyes are like cracking and yellow”. Yeah, that bad. This stuff is CAKE. Which is fine if you’re into that, but I could not get it to blend well at all. This sample is not even gone but it’s just going in the trash.

NYX Matte Finishing Spray – This is a great spray at a great price. While I prefer a dewy look [I have dry to combo skin], spritizing this on top keeps everything looking soft and natural with a hint of glow. I’ve tried a bunch of sprays and I definitely will go back to this one.

Lancome La Base Primer – This may be my favorite primer of all time. I think this is the third bottle I’ve gone through. While I’ve tried a few here and there otherwise, I always repurchase this one. It’s a silicone-base so my makeup goes on SO smooth once I put this on. It’s the perfect base for me and keeps everything where it’s supposed to be. I highly recommend trying it if you like these types of primers.

SKIN

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum – I don’t need to talk too much about this one. This is my all-time favorite skincare product. If you have oily skin, I wouldn’t recommend it. But, if you’re combo or dry like me, this will be your best friend. It solves every problem and I swear I sleep better at night when I’ve put this on! I talk more about it in this post.

HAIR

Matrix Biolage Keratin Conditioner – This is another repeat empty. While I kind of dogged it in this post, I am now singing a completely different tune since I’ve gotten my Keratin treatment done. I ran out and had to wash my hair once without it and I swear it didn’t style as well. With the Keratin treatment, I will use this and only this from now on. It makes my hair so smooth and shiny and styles perfectly.

MISC

Essential Oils [Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lavender] – I’m actually glad I ran out of these three at the same time so I could talk to you guys about them. This is the trio that I diffuse in D’s room every single night and I swear it helps him sleep better. Plus, it smells amazing! This is my go-to nighttime EO combo and I highly recommend trying it if you’ve been wanting to experiment with EOs.

Crest Pro Whitening Toothpaste – This is yet another repeat empty. We love this toothpaste and buy it in bulk so we always have it on hand.

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Perfume – I rarely finish a perfume sample. But this one went quick. I LOVE this smell. I even have the dry shampoo version because I love the smell so much! It’s fresh and light but also sexy at the same time. I highly recommend it.
