here). But, one of the best white accessories you can have is your smile! I’m really lucky in that I never needed braces or a retainer. My teeth were always straight, although I can’t say I didn’t feel a little left out in middle school when all my best friends had metal mouths! As an adult, I’ve always been pretty confident about my smile, except for one thing. No matter what toothpaste or mouthwash I used, my teeth always had a hint of yellow. I longingly looked at photos of people with crisp white smiles. When
Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their kit in exchange for a review, I was thrilled. Finally, an at-home treatment that didn’t cost an arm and a leg! In fact, it’s the same thing the dentist sells for $500+! So, I embarked on my first teeth whitening experience.
STEP ONE – Create your custom-fitted trays
First, I want to sincerely express how EASY this system is! They give you step-by-step instructions through the whole process that makes it super simple to follow. The first step is to create your custom mold using these trays and paste that they send you. You mix together the blue and white paste, press it into the tray, place the tray into your mouth, and you’re done! Once you’ve created the two molds, you pop them into the prepaid envelope they send you and step one is complete! Once you’ve sent in your molds, you wait a few days and they send you your custom-fitted trays.
STEP TWO – Use your custom-fitted trays to whiten teeth
After you receive your trays, you can begin the process using the whitening gel they send you. You place the gel into the mold and you can use it anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours a few times a week. They give you step-by-step instructions so it’s near impossible to mess up. And voila, you’re on your way to a whiter, brighter smile! As a bonus, they also provide desensitizing gel for all of you with sensitive mouths. The best part of this system is that you can use it as much as you want. Whether you only want to use it once a week for 30 minutes or every other day for 3 hours, you can customize your whitening plan based on your desired results and schedule. I would often pop mine in while I was working in the morning and I didn’t even realize it was there! If you run out of whitening/desensitizing gel and you want to continue doing treatments, you can always buy those separately to continue using your custom trays.
Below are my before and after pictures. They are both unretouched and totally non-filtered (eek!) but should show you a the difference. And keep in mind, I’ve only been using the system for a few weeks, so as I continue using it, the results should only get better and better.
