August Empties

Hi guys! HOW is August over?! I know I say that every month but this month I mean it for real. I’ve traveled quite a bit lately so I finished up a bunch of minis but I think they’re worth sharing! It’s a long one this time to so I’ll keep the intro short and sweet. Here are the products I finished up this month:

COSMETICS

Christian Louboutin Mascara – Ok, this is probably the bougiest thing I’ve ever bought, I know. But I watched YouTube videos about it and curiosity killed the cat over here. I caved. BUT, I am sad to report that it is AWESOME. I don’t know how mascara could be this good, but it is. So, if you have the means and have been wanting to try it, I have to begrudgingly recommend it because it truly is so good. I wore it on my best friend’s wedding day and everyone thought I had falsies on.

Tarte Gifted Mascara – I actually really liked this mascara. The wand is long which ends up giving you great length and separation. I am not sure I’d purchase again, but I would recommend this to someone looking for a good lengthening mascara!

Makeup Forever HD Foundation – I got this as a sample and I really, really liked it. I would blend in a few drops of a glow and it made for the perfect finish. If you’re looking for a new high-end foundation with medium coverage, give this one a go.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Spray – I really loved this setting spray. UD kills it in this arena. The one complain I had was the nozzle. I am not sure if I got a bad one or what but the spray was not even at all. I did swap out one I already had that I liked so I could use this product happily. This totally locks your makeup down [even in the Vegas heat!] so I recommend this if you need a heavy duty setting spray.

SKIN/HAIR

Garnier Moisture Bomb Mask – Y’all know I love these masks. They are so affordable and have so much essence in them. They come in a few formats for different skin types which is also a plus. I usually wear this before bed and then rub the essence in so I wake up with super smooth and hydrated skin. Highly recommend.

Boscia Matcha Magic Mask – I got this mask as a sample but there was so much I got 3 uses out of it! I am on a big matcha kick so I was super excited to try this. I loved the consistency of this and how my skin felt after. It was really good at evening skin tone and clearing up any blemishes. I would recommend this to the mask junkie.

L’Occitane Amande Lotion – I got this as a part of a set and I loved the scent. It was super thick and hydrating. I think this would be amazing for the winter months where your skin really needs extra TLC.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hair Sheen – I absolutely adore this brand. Especially for girls with thick or textured hair, I highly recommend checking them out. This smells DIVINE and gives my hair the prettiest gloss when I’m done styling. I do a lot of heat styling so my hair can look dry and brittle [I’m sure the bleach doesn’t help, HA!]. Mike always calls this my cupcake spray. It’s the perfect finishing touch.

Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream – I ADORE this cream but it is pricey so I use it for special occasions. A little goes a long way and it is super hydrating and smells so yummy. I’d recommend picking this up during the Sephora sale to get more bang for your buck.

Dr. Jart’s Cicapair Cream – This was probably the only disappointing product of the lot. I use and love the L’Oreal Cicacream so I was excited to see how this compared. Spoiler: it doesn’t. It’s super thick to the point that it doesn’t blend in well and it is just too pricey.

CeraVe Baby Wash & Shampoo –  I got this for D’s bath time and really liked it. There really isn’t a strong scent [which I kind of wish it did] but it lathered nicely and didn’t irritate his skin or eyes at all. If your babe has any sensitives in the tub, I’d recommend trying this out.

Kopari Coconut Melt – This is an all-purpose product in our house. While I do think it’s a bit gimmicky [I mean, it’s just coconut oil!], we use this one everything from my lips at night to D’s skin [don’t worry, we have separate jars]. But I will always stand by using coconut oil for both beauty and skincare. It’s also great at taking off your makeup. I will say I don’t think splurging on the Kopari brand is necessary, but I would recommend coconut oil as a product in general. Their packaging sure is cute, though!

So, there you have it. Everything from good to bad to bougie! I really enjoyed sharing this month’s empties.
