Beauty Empties

It’s been a while since the last time I did this [see my previous empties here + here]. I love sharing products that I use up and what I really think of them. I try A LOT of beauty products thanks to my day job so I like to think of myself as a little beauty investigative reporter. I’ve been really getting into skin and body care so I have a lot of that to share, as well as a few hair and cosmetic empties. Have you tried any of these products?! Let me know in the comments!

Hair
Redken Control Addict Hair Spray – Redken makes the best hairsprays in my opinon. They are pricey but so worth it. My hair is a nightmare to deal with, and it always stays in place the best when I use Redken styling products. I will first use the wax blast to give my waves some texture, then I spray this all over to hold everything in place. I love it and it smells good!
Body/Skin
Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Wash– This may be my all-time favorite body wash. The scent is unbeatable and my skin always feels so soft after I use it. I can’t really say much more than that. It just gets the job done and leaves you feeling fresh and ready for the day.

Venus + Olay Sugar Berry Shaving Cream – Ok, so maybe it’s a little strange that I’m including this, but I just had to share! This is the best smelling shaving cream EVER! It literally made me want to shave my legs everyday just so I could smell it. I mean Venus really has the market on lock, and the formula is amazing. I never get nicks with this and I just am obsessed with the scent. This is a definite repurchase.Skinceuticals Emollience Moisturizer – I have tried A LOT of moisturizers in my day. I’ve tried everything from drugstore to designer so I feel like I have a pretty good grip on what’s out there. That was until I tried this. This is my new holy-grail moisturizer for the winter time. I have a pretty oily t-zone but the rest of my face is super dry. That usually poses me a problem. But this moisturizer delivers just what I need where I need it. It is really thick but not in a greasy way. My face instantly feels nourished and my makeup actually goes on really well after using this. I will say this might be a bit too thick for summer months, but in the winter, I will never use anything else. I have definitely noticed an overall positive difference in the texture and feel of my skin since using this.

L’Oreal Ideal Towelettes – These are my absolute favorite towelettes for makeup removal. When I’ve had a really long day, these are what I turn to take the day off. I even kept them on my bedside when I was hospitalized last year. They take everything off and leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed. The scent is really pleasant and not overpowering.

Garnier SkinActive Clean+ Towelettes – Charcoal-based skincare products are all the rage these days. In fact, my favorite mask of the moment is charcoal. These towelettes are oil-free and cleansing. They’re made to remove oil and mattify for those with oil-prone skin. I loved using these in the morning as a quick refresh before I applied my makeup. I will say they weren’t the best at removing makeup [although they never claimed to], but they were good at giving me a good base to apply my makeup on.

Cosmetics
L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Setting Spray – Before I tried this, I totally thought that setting sprays were a scam. I mean, it’s basically hairspray for your face, right? Wrong! This setting spray is AMAZING. I swear I can put on makeup at 7am and have it still look amazing at 5pm. I have pretty oily skin, especially my t-zone, so my nose gets shiny really easily. When I would put this on, my makeup would stay matte and in place all day. I am currently trying out the NYX version [which is cheaper], but I have a feeling I’ll be going back to this one as soon as that one is finished up.

i'd love to hear your thoughts once you try the other setting spray. my friend is trying to twist my arm about urban decay's setting spray, but i can't comprehend why if i'm oily and try to mattify something i would then spritz any liquid on it??

Hi! I've also used the UD All Nighter Spray! I have oily skin too and these sprays really are mattifying!! It's liquid at first but once it's dry it's like a shield against oil/sweat! I know it sounds crazy but it really does work. They dry really fast and then don't look wet at all.
