October Beauty Empties

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween week! Today I’m back with October’s installment of my empties. You can tell the seasons are a-changin’ because this month’s empties is chock full of moisturizers. Whenever the weather turns a bit colder, my skin immediately craves hydration. Thanks to my Sephora PLAY! Box, I’ve also gotten to try a few new treats. Read on to see what I got my hands on the last few weeks.

COSMETICS

Rose Gold Eyelash Curler – OK, you may not believe me, but this is one of the best eyelash curlers I’ve ever tried! It’s under $5 and I think I’ve purchased 3 that have lasted me over the last 2 years. I have long lashes but they’re stick straight and point downwards and this really helps lift them. I replace mine every 6 months or so and don’t feel guilty because of the price tag. Plus, it’s super cute! But honestly, if you’re looking for a new curler to try, check this one out. What do you have to lose?!

SKIN/BODY

Lancome Energie De Vie Liquid Care – This moisturizer was perfect to end the summer with. It’s really lightweight and smells amazing. It went on smooth and gave my skin a subtle glow and I was ready for makeup. It kind of reminds me of this formula if you’re looking to save a few bucks. If you’re into luxury skincare, I’d give this a go. I will say that I don’t think it’d be enough for me in the winter months, but I’ll probably go back to it for spring/summer.

BBW “At The Beach” Shower Gel – This rounded out my summer skincare routine, as well. It truly smells like a beach vacation and left my skin super soft. If you’re familiar with BBW skin products, you know they don’t need much introduction. While they won’t be the most hydrating or premium products ever, they do the job, smell great, and are at an amazing price. If you have a beach vaca coming up, I’d recommend throwing this in your suitcase.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream – This is a tried and true favorite that never lets me down. I finished this up on my most recent trip to Chicago. I think I got it in some gift set or something but I probably should just buy the full size to keep on hand. If your skin is super dry, I can’t recommend this enough.

Algenist Power Pressed Serum –This came in my PLAY box and, WOW, did I fall in love! This product is super pricey but I really think it’s worth it. I plan on purchasing the full size! It smells incredible and my skin was almost immediately looking refreshed and bouncy. Y’all know I love me some luxury skincare and this product did not disappoint at ALL.

Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub c/o – I received this in a PR box from Biore and thought I’d give it a go. While I don’t have any explicit problems with acne, I do have spots show up every now and again, especially postpartum. This smells like a dreamsicle and really helps to take the day off. I prefer scrub cleansers so this was right up my alley. And at Biore’s price point, you can’t go wrong. If you’re looking for an acne scrub at an affordable price, I’d give this a try.

Garnier Micellar Towelettes – These are my all-time favorite towelettes. They’re super soft, take everything off, and smell great. I can’t recommend these enough. I know I’ve featured these in past empties and I swear I go through at least a pack a month. Give them a go if you like to try different towelettes.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb – This was another PLAY product. It was a nice, lightweight moisturizer. I got probably 5 uses out of this so I know enough that I do like it. It’s not favorite ever, but it’s good. Much like the Energie De Vie, it kind of reminds me of this formula. A lot of these liquid-type moisturizers remind me of each other, but if I had to choose between the two, I’d choose the Lancome. This brand does have good reviews on Sephora.com so it definitely wouldn’t be a bad way to go if you’re a fan of this type of product.

MISC

Sweet Orange Essential Oil – I’ve been on the EO train for the last few months and I really am enjoying this adventure. I went through a few last month, and this was the next one to bite the dust. I love to diffuse Orange in our kitchen as well as use it for cleaning. I’ll mix a few drops in a spray bottle of water and use it to clean the counters and toilets. I also drop a few drops into our trash can to avoid smells. I feel like Orange is a underutilized [or at least less discussed] oil and I really love having it on hand.

lovebug “Here’s the Skinny” Probiotic c/o – While I religiously give Dillon a probiotic, I never thought to give myself one. When lovebug sent me over a trio of their probiotics, I was so excited to give them a try. I actually drop one of these in my smoothies every morning and, man, these WORK. Without getting into TMI, I immediately feel the effects of these. I feel less bloated and more energized overall. I highly recommend giving this brand a go if you’ve been wanting to venture into the world of probiotics.
