Hello! You guys have requested more beauty content so I thought I’d spend today talking about my favorite fragrances. While I know all of us our staying home right, I still think getting ready some days and, at the very least, spritzing on something familiar and fragrant is a great way to boost your mood. I’ve been collecting fragrances for years now [I used to work at L’Oreal so I got exposed to some of the best] and I’m pretty proud of my collection. I will talk through my favorites for each type of occasion and why I love them. Let’s get started.
DAY-TO-DAY
Byredo Black Saffron – I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. The smell is apparent but still subtle and very fresh. This smells super luxurious but still wearable. It’s pricey but a true decadent perfume to have in your collection. I usually save this for if I have a meeting or will be out and about for the day. The notes are:
- Top: Pomelo, saffron, juniper berry
- Heart: Black violet, accord cuir, cristal rose
- Base: Blond woods, raspberry, vetiver
Replica Beach Walk – This is my FAVORITE perfume for summer. It instantly transports me to, you guessed it, the beach. It lasts all day and is fun and fresh. I’m almost done with this and will definitely repurchase. This is an easy one to spritz on and go no matter where the day is taking you, even if it’s just working/lounging around the house. The key notes are: Bergamot, Heliotrope, Coconut Milk.
Diptyque Eau Rose – This is a gorgeous fragrance that actually can be worn for many different occasions. It is described as a fragrance inspired by the many different scents a rose takes on throughout its lifetime. If you love the smell of roses, this is it for you.
SEXY/DATE NIGHT
YSL Black Opium – This is an OG favorite of mine and I’d argue it’s the sexiest in my collection. This has a coffee and vanilla undertone that makes it really robust and scent-forward. I love this and will continue to keep it in my collection for those nights on the town.
Giorgio Armani Si – This scent is super sexy but also really grown up. I’ve worn this for years on date nights and Mike is always super pleased. It’s described as a luxurious scent for the modern woman who’s strong yet feminine, sophisticated yet charismatic. It’s a modern chypre, reinvented with deep blackcurrant nectar, airy florals and musky blond wood. I definitely agree that it’s sophisticated and the musky wood undertones make it appealing without being saccharine.
Diptyque Do Son – They key note here is tuberose, which I LOVE. This is a hard one for me to describe but if you’ve ever smelled the diptyque tuberose candle, this is the perfume version of that. This is another one that has a deep undertone that is sexy and lasts forever.
FEMININE/FLIRTY
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb – This perfume is so lovely. It’s described as a lavish floral perfum with an intoxicating whirl of cattleyas, freesia, sambac jasmine and rose petals. It just reminds me of a classic perfume that a classic lady would wear. It’s sweet but not overbearing. The notes are:
- Top: cattleya orchid, freesia, centifolia rose.
- Heart: sambac jasmine, osmanthus.
- Base: patchouli, vanilla.
YSL Mon Paris – This is another one that is sweet and alluring without taking over the whole room. I definitely reach for this days on days I’m feeling girly. This is definitely one of the more floral-forward perfumes in my collection. The notes are:
- Top: red berries.
- Heart: white datura flower.
- Base: white musk.
Chanel Chance – This is the classic of all classic perfumes in my opinion. It’s elegant but wearable and it lasts all day long. The notes include an unexpected mingling of grapefruit and quince meets the crispness of fresh green notes, while a trace of Jasmine Absolute lingers in the air. If you’re looking to invest in a fragrance that will never go out of style. I’d recommend this one.
